YAMAZAKI, TSURUKO

Tsuruko Yamazaki (1925 Ashiya, Japan) is an artist and one of the founding members of the gutai group.

She began to study with Jiro Yoshihara in 1947 and was together with Shimamoto one of Jiro Yoshiharas first students.

In 1948 she graduated from the University of the Sacred Heart, Obayashi, Japan.

In 1954 is was an founding member of the Gutai group and took part in all gutai exhibitions.

She lives and works in Ashiya, Japan.
