THOMKINS, ANDRE

André Thomkins

André Thomkins (11. August 1930 Luzern, Switzerland, – 8. November 1985 in West-Berlin, Germany) was a painter and poet.

He lived in Germany from 1952 and taught from 1971 to 1973 as a professor at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf.

He painted and drew representational paintings, where he was influenced by Surrealism and Dadaism.
Together with Dieter Roth and Daniel Spoerri he made Eat Art works.

He also was a writer of palindromes.
