Ernst Fuchs

Ernst Fuchs (13 February 1930 Vienna, Austria – 9 November 2015 Vienna, Austria) was a painter, graphic artist, sculptor, stage designer, architect, composer, author, philosopher and visionary. He is regarded as a co-founder of the Viennese School of Fantastic Realism.

His initially surrealistic, later Mannerist works often show a religious or mythical symbolism.

Modern works by Fuchs, based on biblical, mystical or astrological motifs, have been exhibited in Austria, Germany, Italy, Japan, Russia and other countries since the 1980s.

Ernst Fuchs was the father of 16 children from seven or even eight different relationships.
